Roger Goodell refutes report that NFL improperly influenced brain research study

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — At Tuesday’s NFL owners’ meeting, commissioner Roger Goodell personally addressed for the first time the congressional investigation that found the NFL tried to improperly influence a government brain research study conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As expected, Goodell refuted the investigation.

“Our commitment to medical research is well documented,” Goodell told reporters during a press conference. "We made a commitment to the NIH. It is normal practice for you have to discussions back and forth with the NIH.
