LONDON — After a small hiccup, Roger Federer quickly found his stride again to advance at Wimbledon.
Federer lost a set for the first time during the week but never appeared to be in real trouble against Sam Groth of Australia in a 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-2 victory in the third round on Saturday.
Federer never faced a break point in the match on Centre Court and failed to break Groth’s potent serve only in the third set; he double-faulted to give Groth a 4-3 lead in the tiebreaker of that set.
Federer is bidding for a record eighth Wimbledon title.
