Los Angeles (AFP) - Jorge Soler's home run capped a five-run second inning as the Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 to even their National League playoff series at one game each.

Left-handed pitcher Travis Wood recorded the victory with 2 1/3 innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two for the Cubs, who have won 10 of their last 11 games with the majority of those victories coming on the road.
