Thanks to their win over the Rays on Friday night (TEX 3, TB 1), the Texas Rangers have clinched the best record in the American League in 2016. That means they will have home field advantage throughout the entire postseason, including the World Series thanks to the AL's win in the All-Star Game.
The Rangers' win also clarifies the AL postseason picture. We now know the Indians and Red Sox will meet in the ALDS while Texas will play the winner of the AL Wild Card Game.
