The finger-wagging portion of the Rio Olympics for the United States officially came to an end Sunday.
The first week was marked by days of doping salvos lobbed around the swimming venue, with Lilly King and Michael Phelps lamenting the participation of Russian breaststroker Yuliya Efimova after two past positive doping tests. King was hailed as a hero in many quarters for taking such a public stand for clean sport, but that purported moral high ground crumbled underneath the American delegation as the focus of the Games shifted.
