Rio Olympics 2016: Katie Ledecky anchors USA freestyle relay for third gold medal

Just like she did in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay, Katie Ledecky anchored Team USA to an Olympic medal. This time it was for gold in come-from-behind fashion.

Ledecky, along with Allison Schmitt, Leah Smith and Maya DiRado combined Wednesday night to avenge a second-place finish to Australia in the women's 4x100 relay, giving Team USA its fifth gold in the 4x200 freestyle relay in the past six Olympics.

Schmitt (1:56.21), Smith (1:56.69) and DiRado (1:56.39) left Ledecky with 0.89 seconds behind Australia's anchor Tamsin Cook, but the 19-year-old American left the Aussie in the dust over the final 100 meters to bring home the gold with a split of 1:53.
