Rio Olympics 2016: Jenn Suhr qualifies for pole vault despite nasty virus

Virus? What virus? That didn't stop Jenn Suhr from performing beautifully in the pole vault to qualify for Friday's finals.

Suhr cleared her first attempt at 4.60 meters and passed to 4.55 meters, which she cleared easily on her second attempt.

Suhr's exciting news comes after her husband and coach, Rick Suhr, revealed she had come down with a horrible virus and was "quite ill" over the past few days.

At first, it was unclear if she would even be able to compete to defend her London gold.
