Germany's Fabian Hambüchen surpassed his 2012 London performance by winning gold on the high bar Tuesday with a top score of 15.766 at the Rio Games.
USA's Danell Leyva secured the silver medal with a 15.500 and Great Britain's Nile Wilson took bronze with a 15.466.
Hambüchen, who won silver on the high bar in London four years ago, was .233 above his qualifying score. Wilson, the 2016 European Champion, was the first from Great Britain to win a medal on the high bar.
For Leyva, it was his second silver medal on the day after he placed second in the parallel bars just an hour earlier.
