One of the great mysteries of the Rio Olympics has been solved: It was algae that tainted the diving pool and turned it green.

Officials promised to fix the issue by Wednesday, but said their waters posed no danger to the swimmers.

Many were confused by how the algae took over the pool so fast, but Rio spokesman Mario Andrada told USA Today that "(the pool) will be blue from now on.
