Minnesota basketball coach Richard Pitino has far exceeded his contract's allowances for private jet travel since arriving at the university in 2013, an internal university audit obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune revealed.
While Pitino's contract budgets for $50,000 annually for private jet travel for recruiting and "university business," he topped $115,000 in fiscal 2014 and $156,000 in 2015.

The budget-busting came with since-departed athletic director Norwood Teague's permission, senior associate AD Chris Werle said Tuesday.
