The Yankees are reportedly filing a grievance against outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury in an attempt to recoup part of the $26 million they owe him, according to the New York Post.
Several sources told the Post that the Yankees are taking action because Ellsbury "used an outside facility to rehab injuries that kept him off the field for the past two seasons."
New York released Ellsbury on Wednesday night ahead of the team's deadline to set its 40-man roster. The high-priced outfielder has not played since the 2017 American League Championship Series because of multiple injuries.
