Report: 'Unlikely' Belichick Would've Accepted Trade to Team for More Than Day 3 Pick

It appears the New England Patriots never tried to trade former head coach Bill Belichick this winter, according to The Athletic's Chad Graff.

"It's unlikely Belichick would've greenlit a trade to another team for more than a Day 3 draft pick," Graff wrote. "That wasn't worth it to the Patriots."

After discussions with team owner Robert Kraft, Belichick and the Patriots mutually agreed to part ways this week after 24 seasons, 17 AFC East titles, nine AFC championships and six Super Bowl titles.

Much of the franchise's success came during the Tom Brady era, and the last four seasons without the legendary quarterback under center has been a wake-up call for New England.
