The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed a "greater emphasis on the people" during this free agency period, per Mark Kaboly of The Athletic.
"According to team and league sources, the Steelers have put a greater emphasis on the people — not just the players — they've considered bringing in during free agency, even for free agents who might seem like a perfect fit on the surface," Kaboly wrote.
It's clear that not everyone who's been in Pittsburgh lately has wanted to be around and/or wore out his welcome with the franchise. Kaboly's listed examples include the recently traded Diontae Johnson and Kenny Pickett, the recently released Chukwuma Okorafor and wideout Chase Claypool, who was sent to the Chicago Bears last year.
