The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to trade guard Kendall Marshall to the Utah Jazz in exchange for center Tibor Pleiss, two second-round picks and cash, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Jazz reportedly plan to waive Marshall before his $2 million contract for next season becomes guaranteed.
For the Sixers, this is another Sam Hinkie-esque move from new general manager Bryan Colangelo. Philadelphia signed point guards Sergio Rodriguez and Jerryd Bayless this summer, and it plans to use rookie Ben Simmons as a de facto point guard at least some of the time, so Marshall was not in line to play a significant role.
