Report: Redskins Won't Pay Trent Williams's $5.1 Million Salary

The Redskins will not pay left tackle Trent Williams the remaining $5.1 million of his base salary this season, according to ESPN.

Washington placed Williams, 31, on the reserve/non-football injury list on Thursday. Williams reported to the team last Tuesday after the NFL trade deadline passed to end his lengthy holdout that began last spring.

The team paid Williams last week upon his return but will not continue to pay him this season. Washington has the right to do so, although most teams continue to pay players on the NFI list. Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung received 35-40% of their salaries while off the field, according to ESPN.
