Report: Oregon to hire Willie Taggart as head coach

South Florida's Willie Taggart will be named the new head football coach at Oregon, reports ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy,

Taggart will replace Mark Helfrich, who was fired last month after four seasons. Helfrich won 11, 13, and nine games, and led the Ducks to a berth in the first College Football Playoff championship in his first three seasons, but stumbled to a 4–8 record this season, the school's worst record since 1991.

Taggart, 40, spent the last four seasons as South Florida's head coach, compling a 24–25 record. After going 6–18 his first two seasons with South Florida, the Bulls won 18 games over the last two seasons.
