Report: Matthew Stafford has torn tendons in middle finger, can’t move end of it

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will play the remainder of the season with a glove after dislocating and tearing tendons in the middle finger on his throwing hand on Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Stafford reportedly can’t control the end of his middle finger, which “is now bent downwards at a 90-degree angle.”

The 28-year-old sustained the injury during the first quarter of Detroit’s 20–17 win when his hand collided with those of the Bears’ Leonard Floyd. He played the rest of the game with a glove on, finishing 21 of 35 for 223 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
