Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner was reportedly carjacked while heading to a movie Monday evening.
According to a Toronto Police report, the All-Star winger was allegedly robbed at The Queensway and Islington Ave in the west end of Toronto by three suspects carrying two handguns and a knife.
Per the Toronto Sun, the suspects approached Marner and his friends wearing masks, demanding the keys to his Range Rover.
Thankfully, the group did not have any guns pointed directly at them, according to the report.
Interestingly, the Sun’s source relayed that the carjackers did not know that it was Marner, and were simply interested in the car which they would likely quickly attempt to sell out of the country, either whole or in parts.
