The New York Giants have reportedly placed offensive lineman Will Hernandez on the reserve/COVID-19 list, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Hernandez being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list doesn’t automatically mean that he’s tested positive. It can also mean that he’s been exposed to someone who has tested positive or is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
The Giants released a statement on Thursday to announce that an unnamed player has tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing is underway, but their team facility will stay open.
Possible issues for Monday’s game
Hernandez is the first Giants player to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list this season, but he may not be the last.
