Popular daily fantasy sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel are set to merge under the leadership of DraftKings co-founder Jason Robins, according to Bloomberg.
Under the merge, Robins will likely be named the chief executive officer of the combined firm. FanDuel co-founder Nigel Eccles is expected to be named the chairman of the board, which will be comprised of members from both companies evenly.
The merge has been reported for several months but could be formally announced as early as this week.
As one company, the two parties are expected to fight challenges from regulators and lobby for legal clarity in more states.
