Remarkable success with club and country sees Ronaldo make history again

With a hat-trick in Sunday's 4-2 win over Kashima Antlers, Cristiano Ronaldo brought an end to a wonderful year with the Club World Cup title.

The Portuguese attacker became the first player to score a hat-trick in the final of the competition, saving his side after Gaku Shibasaki put the Japanese side 2-1 up early in the second half.

The win sees Madrid extend their record-breaking unbeaten run to 37 games, making for a wonderful year for the club all-round.

Crucial to that, of course, has been Ronaldo, whose perfect last 12 months has seen him make history for the umpteenth time of his career.
