I've never met Jason McElwain nor do I know him personally. But I feel like I've known him for a decade, like he was with my group of friends at the lunch table and with us during open gym. I remember exactly where I was when SportsCenter fired aired the report of his story.
That's because on McElwain left a lasting mark on me, one he left of countless others thanks to one of the most magical, organic moments in sports history on Feb. 15th, 2006.
