Sox and runs were flying everywhere Thursday in Boston as the Red Sox beat the White Sox 7-6 in 10 innings.
Xander Bogaerts' single off reliever Matt Purke drove in Mookie Betts with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th. The walkoff triumph allowed Boston to avoid a sweep against Chicago.
Bogaerts has been a man on a mission this season (.351/.401/.510, 50 RBIs in 71 games). In fact, he's been so good that his 2-for-6 stat line almost seemed like a disappointment.
Though the score might paint an entertaining picture, Red Sox manager John Farrell was just happy to scratch out a sloppy victory.
