After going hitless to begin his season, Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder sprain.
Sandoval, who has $77 million remaining on his contract through 2019, had been dealing with a back injury during spring training, but he showed up at Fenway Park on Wednesday with limited mobility in the shoulder.
