BOSTON — The Red Sox started Wednesday night by saluting history and welcoming members of the 1986 American League championship squad to Fenway Park for a 30-year reunion. As the night unfolded, there were many more subtle nods to the annals of the game.
“Red Sox 10, Rockies 3” could not convey the full scope of what happened. There was so much to see, and to appreciate for meanings large and small.

The most obvious history-making highlight was Jackie Bradley Jr. extending his hitting streak to 29 games with a single in the fourth inning, before he added a double in the seventh.
