BALTIMORE — Nothing snaps an offense out of its doldrums, and negates an ugly turnover, like the longest regular-season play from scrimmage in franchise history.
Joe Flacco cleaned up his previous mess nicely Sunday afternoon. One possession after throwing an interception in the red zone, he connected with Mike Wallace for a 95-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown, giving the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the arch-rival Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium.
That was cornerback Artie Burns who dove and missed the speedy Wallace — the former speedy Steeler Wallace, remember — over the middle. Earlier in the quarter, Burns picked off Flacco inside the Steelers' 20 to stop the Ravens' previous drive.
