Rain Friday. Rain Saturday. What's NASCAR to do about its All-Star Race?
While the weather forecast made Friday's schedule doubtful at Charlotte Motor Speedway, there was the proverbial silver lining to rain clouds hanging over the track. Saturday night, no rain.
Which means, if meteorology is an exact science, the 2016 Sprint All-Star Race will go off as planned. Or something like that.
First, NASCAR must stage its Sprint Showdown, an exhibition in which three drivers will qualify for the All-Star Race. That prep race is scheduled Friday night. If meteorology is an exact science, ain't gonna happen.
