Connor Cook is a pick that late Raiders owner Al Davis would have loved.
He fits. The quarterback, who slid three rounds from his rightful spot in the 2016 NFL Draft because of perceived character concerns, landed in Oakland’s lap Saturday when the Raiders traded up in the fourth round. Bonus points for having two-time Super Bowl winner Jim Plunkett introduce the pick.
It’s not an optimum landing spot for Cook. He’ll have to sit behind Derek Carr while a handful of teams could use him as a starter in 2016. That’s going to hurt for a while.
