The Las Vegas Raiders expect Aidan O'Connell to start Sunday's Week 13 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.
O'Connell returned to practice on Monday for the first time since he was placed on IR following a right thumb fracture in Week 7.
If O'Connell is activated he will replace Gardner Minshew, who suffered a season-ending broken collarbone during Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos.
His potential return could impact the Raiders' desire to sign another quarterback. ESPN's Adam Schefter recently named Las Vegas as a "potential destination" for former New York Giants quarterback and current free agent Daniel Jones.
