The offensive line was in flux all last season. With the starters cycling in and out in part to injury and in part to try and find the best combination. Jackson-Powers Johnson was the team's best option at center, but was played at left guard to try and keep the best five on the field. Parham struggled in his 14 starts while Meredith appeared to show himself to be a better option.

With Andre James cut, Powers-Johnson moves solidly in to position as the team's starting center. That alone would have left the Raiders with at least one open spot at guard.
