Rafael Nadal made a shocking exit from the Miami Open on Saturday, retiring due to apparent illness during the third set of his second-round match with Damir Dzumhur.
Nadal, ranked fifth in the world, appeared primed to coast through the match when he took the first set 6-2, despite spurning nine break points in the opening game. He then saw his opponent complain of dizziness and nausea, but after receiving medical attention, Dzumhur came out with renewed vigor in the second set to even the match.
