Purdue got "a competitive SOB" as its new athletic director, university president Mitch Daniels said Tuesday at Mike Bobinski's introductory news conference.
Bobinski was Georgia Tech's AD from April 2013 until taking the Purdue job this week.

Daniels said that he and Board of Trustees chair Mike Berghoff, who led the search committee, interviewed Bobinski early in a process that looked at "more than 50" individuals, 12 of whom Daniels said he met with personally, the Indianapolis Star reported.
