Punter Steve Weatherford Cut by Jets After 1 Game, Made $51,000 with Team

Steve Weatherford's tenure with the New York Jets lasted a total of only four days, but he can say that his stint with the team was definitely worth his time.

That's because he made more than $51,000 for one "week" of work.

New York signed the punter on Saturday, just one day before the team took on the New England Patriots. Weatherford punted four times in the game, averaging 40.3 yards per punt.

Sunday's game would be the only one Weatherford would play in as a Jet (well, so far), as New York's regular punter, Ryan Quigley, appears to be healthy enough to play this week after missing Week 7 with a shin infection.
