Pro Bowl G Evan Mathis agrees to 1-year deal with Cardinals

There's a reason the Arizona Cardinals were willing to trade guard Jonathan Cooper to the New England Patriots on Tuesday. The Cardinals knew they were signing two-time Pro Bowler Evan Mathis.

After winning a Super Bowl in his lone season with the Denver Broncos, Mathis agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday. The deal is worth $6 million, NFL Media reports.

Now in the NFC West, Mathis will have two chances per season to face the San Francisco 49ers, led by former Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly.
