The discussion of opioids in the NFL is timely again following Prince's death this week. The legendary musician reportedly overdosed on an opioid days before his death, and it may have played a role in his ultimate fate. He was reportedly taking the medication for a hip problem following an operation he had in 2010, per TMZ.
Prince's death and alleged battle with prescription opioids sparked a realization in Ravens offensive lineman Eugene Monroe. He took to Twitter Saturday morning expressing his concern about all of the times he's been prescribed opioids.
