Nyquist at 3-to-5 is the odds-on favorite in the 2016 Preakness, looking to win his ninth race in as many tries. He'll be challenged by Kentucky Derby runner-up Exaggerator, who has fallen to Nyquist four times in their young careers. There will be 10 total horses trying to derail his quest for horse racing history on a muddy track.
The Preakness is the shortest of the three Triple Crown races at 1 3/16 miles. Odds-on favorites American Pharoah and California Chrome have won the past two Preakness Stakes, and only two horses with odds of greater than 4-to-1 have won the second jewel of the Triple Crown since 2007 (Oxbow 2013, Shackleford 2010).
