The Washington Commanders did not address the edge rusher position in free agency. Sure, free agency is still ongoing, and the Commanders could still add a veteran, but the type of impact player they need can only be acquired via trade or next month's 2025 NFL draft.
Washington expressed interest in Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, but those talks went nowhere. And after trading for left tackle Laremy Tunsil, the Commanders may be focused solely on the draft. Fortunately, it's a good year to need a defensive end/edge rusher. There are several prospects expected to go throughout the first two rounds.
