The public memorial service celebrating the life of Muhammad Ali is underway Friday at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, where political and religious leaders are praising the late boxer for the life he led in and out of the ring.
Expected speakers (Live on ESPN/WatchESPN) included former President Bill Clinton, actor Billy Crystal, journalist Bryant Gumbel, Ali's daughter Maryum Ali and representatives from multiple faiths.
"The way to honor Muhammad Ali is to be Muhammad Ali today," Rabbi Michael Lerner said in a spirited speech.
About 300 celebrities and dignitaries were expected to be among the 15,500 in the crowd, according to Ali family spokesman Bob Gunnell.
