Polish javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk auctioned off her silver medal she won at the 2020 Olympics in order to pay for an eight-month-old Polish boy's heart surgery. The Polish store chain u017babka Polska won the auction with a bid of $125,000.
"It didn't take me long to decide, it was the first fundraiser I entered and I knew it was the right one," she said via social media, according to Daily Mail. Miloszek has a serious heart defect and is in need of surgery."
But u017babka Polska, a convenience store chain, wasn't done there.
