Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 will not only go down as the most dominating performance at historic Charlotte Motor Speedway, it'll also go down as the one that didn't get away from Martin Truex Jr.
After suffering through some heart-breaking finishes this season, including just a couple of weeks ago at Dover, Truex cruised to his first-ever win at Charlotte. He led 392 of 400 laps, 588 miles total, to win the Coca-Cola 600. The previous laps leader for most laps led at this race was Jim Paschal, who led 335 laps in the 1967 race.
Truex has had some pretty bad luck this season, from just missing out on winning the Daytona 500 in the closest finish in that race's history to having a fluke wreck with Jimmie Johnson just two weeks ago at Dover.
