As Howard's car came back down the track after hitting the wall in Turn 1, Dixon ran into him, launching his Chip Ganassi Racing Honda into the air.
Dixon's car pictured shortly before it landed on the inside SAFER barrier. The impact ripped the back half of his car off, tore a hole in the fencing that had to be repaired and sent debris into a photographer who suffered minor injuries.
