Peyton Manning appeared on David Letterman’s final Late Show Top Ten segment last night, landing a solid zing in the process. Manning was the lone athlete alongside legends of comedy like Jim Carrey, Bill Murray, Chris Rock, and Tina Fey, which may have seemed odd.
In fact, Manning and Letterman have a long friendship, which the Denver Broncos quarterback documented in an op-ed on The MMQB. Manning first appeared on The Late Show in 1997, ahead of that year’s Heisman Trophy ceremony.
