LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Perry Ellis played like the man everyone believed him to be. Which, as surely everyone knows by now, is an old man. He could have muted all the jokes by shaving his head and adopting a badass look, but he allowed his hairline to drift backward because that’s what Perry Ellis looks like.
Instead of beaming from the top of a ladder late Saturday near one of the goals at KFC Yum! Center, the way the winners in the South Region final did, Ellis bowed that head as he sat in the locker room and fielded questions about the end of his superb career with the Kansas Jayhawks.
