Penn State's James Franklin: Team needs to handle distractions better

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Penn State coach James Franklin as preached about the dangers of distraction for most of the past two years. After his team lost its second game against a ranked opponent in as many weeks, Franklin said his group hasn't yet figured out how to handle the heat of the spotlight.

"I would describe us as a young program," Franklin said after a 27-24 loss to No. 24 Michigan State in East Lansing this Saturday. "We haven't been a part of these conversations for a long time. We haven't handled it well, and that's on me.
