The New England Patriots are hurting.
Sunday morning brought several injury reports that could slow the team's high-powered offense. The Boston Globe reported that running back Dion Lewis may require a second knee surgery, starting right tackle Sebastian Vollmer reportedly is headed for the injured reserve list, and backup guard Shaq Mason has a broken hand.
Lewis, who tore his ACL last Nov. 8, has been held out of the preseason thus far, but the team had hoped to have him ready for the season opener. Vollmer, meanwhile, had been on the physically unable to perform list with an undisclosed injury.
