It wasn't like anyone who has been paying attention gave up on Patrick Mahomes just because Tyreek Hill was traded in the offseason. But there was a little more doubt than there should have been.
The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback is going to be just fine without Hill. He'll just turn the next batch of receivers into stars. Mahomes had a fantastic game and the Chiefs made a statement by obliterating the Arizona Cardinals 44-21 in the season opener. Mahomes had 360 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
Mahomes started hot. He threw touchdowns on each of the Chiefs' first three possessions.
