The Carolina Panthers are keeping around a key piece of backup.
As first reported by ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Saturday afternoon, the Panthers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with safety Nick Scott. An earlier report this morning from Joe Person of The Athletic indicated that Carolina was seeking to bring back the 29-year-old defensive back.
Scott entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. It was then that he'd first cross paths with current Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who was serving as the Rams' safeties coach at the time.
