Panthers CB Josh Norman to skip voluntary workouts, report says

Josh Norman has neither reached a long-term agreement with the Panthers, nor has he signed his $13.95 million franchise tender. Therefore, he won’t be in the building when the Panthers begin offseason workouts next week, The Charlotte Observer reported.

Norman wants to be among the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league for the next several years, which could be upwards of Darrelle Revis’ $14,024,212 average annual salary. However, Panthers GM Dave Gettleman said he’d feel much better about giving Norman that type of cash after playing one year under the franchise tag.

Since next week’s workouts are voluntary, Norman will not be subject to any fines.
