Green Bay Packers fans take their tailgating seriously at Lambeau Field. Now, they have an official tailgate space to call their own on game days, and they don't need a game ticket to be part of the experience.
Team officials unveiled Wednesday the Johnsonville Tailgate Village, a permanent structure set to open for the 2017 season. It's named, but of course, after Johnsonville, the longtime Wisconsin-based sausage maker that feeds NFL fans of all stripes nationwide.
The building, to be constructed in the stadium's east parking lot, spans 30,000 square feet, stands 30 feet tall and can accommodate about 2,000 fans.
