Packers moving on from James Jones in favor of younger receivers

James Jones' return to Green Bay will be short-lived. The Packers informed Jones' agent the team does not plan on re-signing the 31-year-old free-agent receiver.

"They're going to go with the young guys," Frank Bauer told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel at the NFL owners' meetings in Boca Raton, Fla.

Including Randall Cobb, the Packers have five receivers who are 25 or younger. Jordy Nelson is 30.

Jones was a third-round pick of the Packers out of San Jose State in the 2007 NFL Draft.
